Toyota Avensis
Toyota Avensis – car brand manufactured by Toyota Motor Corporation in Derbyshire, England in 1998 as a successor to the Carina E. Currently produced is the third generation model after face lift.
Toyota Avensis I was presented in 1997 as a successor to the Carina interconnect technology.
Initially, the car performed only with four engines: 1.6-liter 101hp (engine lean burn) or 110hp, 1.8 110hp (engine lean burn) and 129 HP 2.0 petrol and the 2.0 90hp turbodiesel and three types of body (sedan, liftback, estate ). Station wagon version was in fact intended for the Japanese market a second generation Toyota Caldiny (auto visually differs from the European Avensis grill, under the hood was a more powerful motor and hardened suspension). After a facelift in 2000, there is sport version (2.0 SR) having a more aggressive look. During a facelift for gasoline engines 1.8 and 2.0 introduced variable valve timing called the Toyota VVT-I, which increased the capacity of individuals and their torque. Engine 1.8 after changes had 130hp, while the 2.0 150hp. It also introduces a new power unit diesel common rail 2.0 D4D 110hp. The first D4D were already installed in October 1999.
The seven mini Toyota Avensis Verso was presented in 2001. Was available with engines 2.0, 2.4 and 2.0 D4D.
Model station wagon version was sold in Japan (and imported to the Asian part of Russia, and South America) under the name Caldina. From the original model differed slightly podretuszowanym ahead. Today, Toyota Caldina is a completely different model which had nothing in common with the Toyota Avensis.
Toyota Avensis II was introduced in 2003. Changed both exterior, interior and the floor plate and the part of the chassis components. In addition to the engine versions available in the previous version, there is also a 2.4 engine with Toyota’s Camry and Turbodiesel with a capacity of 2.2. This version was exported to Japan and New Zealand. Model achieved a great success in Poland and the European Union.
In June 2006, she appeared on the Toyota Avensis facelift. Changes included the location indicator on side mirrors, audio system plays MP3/WMA/ASL, new front bumper and a new radiator grille. In addition, the inserted new headlights and a slightly modified rear lights. In Poland, this model was available in several trim levels from the simplest "Terra" (only with 1.6 VVT-i, with basic equipment, including eight airbags, ABS/EBD/ESP and traction control and manual air conditioning) the most expensive models "Prestige" (alloy wheels, leather trim on the instrument panel, leather seats, satellite navigation, parking sensors, dual-zone automatic climate control, semi-automatic gearbox with steering wheel controls, cruise control, etc.). According to the manufacturer very popular in Poland are intermediate versions of "Sol" and "Premium" (since 2006 "Executive").
Toyota Avensis III was presented at the International Motor Show in Paris in 2008. First time Avensis is not offered as a liftback. Toyota has abandoned this variety because it was the least popular. Sales in Poland began in February 2009. The model is compared to its predecessor more massive.
In September 2011 at the Frankfurt Motor Show presented a modified Avensis. Subjected facelifingowi model has not changed much – changed a bit the front (bumper, grille and lights) and used other lights. Inside there is a new Toyota Touch multimedia system and a new, light gray, the color of the upholstery. For sale in Poland, the new Avensis has appeared in February 2012.
