The Suzuki Wagon R + is a minivan from the Japanese automobile and motorcycle manufacturer Suzuki. In Europe it has been available since the autumn of 1997. In 2000 there was a model change. As technologically General Motors partners with Suzuki, an identical vehicle is offered since 2000 at Opel as Opel Agila (but with Opel own engines). With the model change, the body has adapted to the general taste and a little more spacious. In September 2003 came a revised version, a diesel engine was available on the market from that date.

The Wagon R + was initially built as a four-seater and approved (center split rear seat). Later, in a revision were the back seat and the harness modified (asymmetric division, three three-point belts at the back) and the vehicle was registered for five people. From model year 2001, all Wagon R + four airbags (driver, front passenger and two side airbags in the backrests of the front seats).

The Japanese version of the model was originally called Wagon R. Only in export models joined the "+" to what should be for improved performance and larger dimensions, especially the width has been increased. The vehicles for the European market were produced in Hungary (Magyar Suzuki, Esztergom).

In the first generation, there were two petrol engines: a 1.0 liter displacement and 48 kW (65hp) and a 1.2 liter, 51 kW (69hp), which it was with or without all-wheel drive. In the second generation (new, larger body), there was a 1.0-liter engine with 48 kW (65hp) and a 1.3-liter engine with 56 kW (76hp) (with or without all-wheel drive). Since its revision in 2003, there are the vehicles with a petrol engine with 1.3 liter displacement and 69 kW (94hp) with or without all-wheel drive and with a diesel engine with 51 kW (69 PS), both low-emission according to Euro 4

The consumption of the current gasoline engine according to the manufacturer at 6.3 liters per 100 kilometers in the combined cycle (corresponds to carbon dioxide emissions of 150 g /km), the diesel engine is specified with 4.9 liters per 100km.

The production of the Suzuki Wagon R + was discontinued in March 2006. The successor Splash was presented at the IAA 2007 and is also produced in Hungary. Since the September 25, 2008 Suzuki sold in Japan (and only there) the actual successor of the Wagon R under the same name.
