The car models Autozam AZ-1 and Suzuki Cara (PG6SS) are identical two-seater sports coupe with a notchback, which were designed as a kei car. Manufacturers and developers of both vehicle models was Suzuki. The AZ-1 was established under the Mazda car brand Autozam. Designer was Tatsumi Fukunaga, who as a Suzuki RS 3 introduced the coupe /. The vehicle was produced as a Mazda AZ-550 and Mazdaspeed A-spec (PG6SA).

Depending on the market it was the model with right-sided or left-sided steering. The Suzuki Cara, however, it was only in the Japanese market. When engine was a gasoline engine of the type F6A with a displacement of 657cc and a power output of 47 kW. The sports version of the AZ-1 brought Spartan Micro Sports in WRC-style on the market, which the Ford Escort Mk IV was similar to that. A less aggressive version, however, put the Mazdaspeed A-spec. Suzuki had this act as a rear wheel drive. As well as the engine comes also the technical structure of the Autozam Carol. The sale was launched in September 1992 as Autozam AZ-1 and Mazda AZ-550. The Suzuki version, however, was only introduced on 27 January 1993 on the Japanese market. Alternatively received the Cara engines from the Suzuki Cultus.

By the end of production of the two model versions in December 1995, a total of 4392 units of the Autozam AZ-AZ-1/Mazda 550 and 531 units of the Suzuki Cara were produced.

At the Tokyo Motor Show 1993, the Japanese car manufacturer Ramble Guinea presented his SUV version called Chetha. This had a redesigned body. According to the application were as separate headlights mounted on the trunk lid lights used.

The M2 1015 Mazda company M2 based on the Mazdaspeed version. The model offered additional fog lights and a different rear spoiler. A total of 50 units of this version were produced as a complete car.

In the CV-1 Striker EX is a unique piece with a rollcage. In 1994, this version in the Japanese Metal Hero Series Blue SWAT Asahi Television used. Driver which was the team leader Shou Narumi. Other features were the titanium alloy and the use of tungsten and carbon fibers for the armament. Furthermore, the single piece of reinforced glass and a gas turbine which is the vehicle to a maximum speed of 312km/h can accelerate.

The scorpions is another on the AZ-1 based model. This was designed on behalf of the Japanese Abarth collector Shiro Kosaka in Italy in the autumn of 1996. Only one complete vehicle model was previously mounted. All other parts have since been sold by the company Saburo Japan as body kits.
