Nissan Murano – mid-size crossover SUV. It was designed at Nissan Design America, California.
The first generation Murano was based on the floorpan Nissan FF-L. Sold since 2003 in North America and in Europe its premiere at the Geneva motor show in 2004. The European showrooms appeared in spring 2005 and is available only in one version and equipment. The name Murano comes from the name of a small island lying near Venice.
The second generation appeared on the market in 2008. Auto also was designed primarily for the American market. For the first time in addition to a large Murano petrol engine could be fueled diesel (under the hood hit 2.5 dCi unit).
In 2014, at the showroom in New York City debut of the third generation Murano. The car broke with the previous styling, design refers to the other shown little earlier vehicles Nissan Qashqai II as if the X-Trail. Emphasis has been placed on the reduction of fuel consumption, hence the large aerodynamic fine-tuning the car and a significant reduction in weight (car weighs 130kg less than the second generation).

Until September 2010, the Nissan Murano was offered with only one engine – 3.5 liter petrol engine that generates power of 245 (265 since 2008)hp at 6000 rpm and its maximum torque is 318 Nm at 3600 RPM. In September 2010, she appeared 2.5 liter diesel (dCi designation) that generates 190hp and its maximum torque is 450 Nm at 2000 rpm.
