Trolleybuses in Tychy-one of the three existing systems of communication trolleybus in Poland (Gdynia, near Lublin).
The construction of the first experimental trolleybus line began at the behest of the governor February 11, 1982 and launched on Sept. 30, 1982 year. The route had a length of 4km and ran from the bus depot streets Pilsudski and Dmowski, the street John Paul II. Tychy chosen as the experiment due to the wide streets, which were suitable for the introduction of communication trolley. A month later (30/10/1982) province governor approved the expansion of the network. The first trolley had y numerals 1, 2, 3, and then introduced lettering: A, B, C, D, E.
Trolleybus catenary is supplied with a nominal DC voltage of 660 V. The energy is supplied through two traction substation, located in the bus depot (power of 2 × 800 kW) and at ul. Construction (power 3 × 800 kW). The contact wire in the form of a copper wire with a cross section of 12 mm ² is suspended at a height of 5.80 m to 6.20 m above the streets. The total length of the overhead line is 40.1km single track. At the network’s 14 turnouts (switches), 13 the so-called. exits, junctions 16 and 21 spoilers (section insulators). Currently, service trolley bus lines take trolleybus line Tyskie, Ltd. created as a result of separating the structures Tychy Enterprises Urban Transport.
Until 1989, in the camp were only trolleybuses Soviet production of "ZIU", a total of 24 pieces first Polish production trolleybus was purchased in 1989 – was built on the basis of the bus company Jelcz.
Currently, the core of trolleybus fleet in Tychy are low-floor vehicles Trollino Solaris 12 and średniopodłogowe Jelcz PR110 and Jelcz 120MT. Tyskie trolley buses have three-digit numbers starting Vehicle digit 0
In 2012 and early 2013, the project "Modernization of the tram and trolleybus transport infrastructure in the Silesian Agglomeration with accompanying infrastructure" Tyskie Trolley line put into service 15 new Solaris vehicles. One new feature is the ability to ride them without connecting the pantograph up to 5km – which can be critical for example in the case of various events or detours traffic – and automatically brakes.
Currently withdrawn from use older vehicles Jelcz PR110UE (used since 1983) Jelcz 120MTE (used since 1994).
