Isuzu Ascender
The Isuzu Ascender was a SUV that was manufactured from 2003 by General Motors in the United States. At first there was only a 7-seater variant, which replaced the Isuzu Trooper and was basically a GMC Envoy with Isuzu logo. In model year 2005, a 5-seater was presented as a successor to the Rodeo and Axiom models. Starting this year, there was also a V8 with cylinder deactivation. Once Isuzu offered a complete range of models of cars, trucks and SUVs, but the Ascender was now the last cars of the brand, who was in the U.S. for sale until the bad salable i-Series was introduced. A sale of the Ascender in Canada was not an option because Isuzu had already withdrawn from this market.
The Ascender is the only one of six mid-sized SUVs, which was not manufactured by a 100% GM brand since Isuzu until the spring of 2006 only partially GM belonged. The 7-passenger Ascender was no longer offered as of 2007 and also the V8 engine there is no more. Articles in car magazines warn the buyer before a thin dealer network for warranty repairs and the Kelley Blue Book lists a relatively low resale value, similar to the Chevrolet TrailBlazer. But Isuzu offers a 7-Jahres-/75.000-Meilen-Garantie for the drivetrain and various other warranties.
The production of the Ascender was discontinued by General Motors on 6 June 2008, as Isuzu withdrew entirely from the U.S. market.
