Hyundai Terracan
Hyundai Terracan – sport utility vehicle produced by Hyundai Motor Company in Ulsan in Korea in the years 2001-2006. Originally sold in Asian markets under the name of Highlander. After 2001 under the new name Terracan also in Europe, North America and Australia. In Korea, and the North American market already in 2007, replaced by Hyundai Veracruz, introduced for sale two years later in Europe under the name Hyundai ix55.
The predecessor model Terracan was a Nissan Sentra. In Poland the next Athos – one of the best-selling car company. This model produced in 1991-2003 was based on the Mitsubishi Pajero license. At its base was constructed also Terracana.
Terracan debuted in Korea in 1999. The new roadster Hyundai has been designed from the ground up R & D center in Namyang. To meet the requirements of the most demanding crash tests, designing a new model combined the actual crash tests with computer simulations of accidents and structural analysis techniques. The car also passed the stringent tests SINCAP, focusing on side impact.
The first models had 2.5-liter diesel engine with 103hp Hyundai Galloper. This model was never available in the official sales network in Poland.
Presentation of the car in Geneva already under European name, which can be explained as "the ruler of the earth." The name originated from the submission of the words "terra" (earth) and "khan" (ruler). In Europe, the car received two engines: a 2.9 CRDi and 3.5 V6 DOHC. The first of these units is a diesel engine with direct injection common rail. The second unit is a 6-cylinder petrol engine.

Facelift car. The new model has a black grill, as amended by the side strip and protective strip on the tailgate. Also new are the rear lights, larger air intakes and fog lights have changed shape from round to rectangular. All versions were equipped in light alloy wheels. Inside, the instruments appeared in white.
2006 – end of production. The next year, the model is withdrawn from sale. His successor will be initially offered only in the United States, then in Europe, Hyundai ix55 model/Veracruz.
