Honda S2000 – double roadster manufactured by the Japanese brand Honda from April 1999 to June 2009. The car was created to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Honda. Production model was preceded by a concept called SSM unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show in 1995. Auto produced was to be limited in number, but strong demand for auto led to the start of mass production. The vehicle was withdrawn from the production of because of the naturally aspirated engine, which did not allow to pass certification tests due to excessive fuel consumption.

Car name associated with the capacity of high-speed motor gasoline – S2000 from the 2.0, continuing the tradition of like models S500, S600 and S800 – roadsters in 1960. Total production reached a number of 112 636 copies. The car was in the top ten reliable cars and the most stolen cars in the United States. Honda S2000 AP1 was produced from April 1999 to 2003. The car mounted four-cylinder petrol engine with a capacity of 1997 cm ³ DOHC VTEC and power from 240 to 250hp (depending on market sales), working with a 6-speed manual transmission.

Suspensions car hardened double wishbone and electrically assisted steering. The standard equipment of the vehicle were 16-inch tires Bridgestone Potenza model S-02. Compact and lightweight engine mounted behind the front axle allows the overall weight distribution of 50:50 (front: rear). Auto had standard vinyl roof. In 2001, the car underwent a light facelift mainly modernizing the interior of the vehicle: radio, and adding a digital clock on the dashboard. In 2002 he changed the suspension settings of the vehicle, and the rear window plastic turned into a glass containing an electric defroster, slightly modified rear lights, a radio and a motor controller.

AP1 version was produced in Takanezawa next Honda NSX.

Honda S2000 AP2 is a version of the car in 2003 following the results of face lift produced by June 2009 in Suzuka.

The cars in 2004 changed the 16-inch tires on 17-inch Bridgestone Potenza RE-050 by reducing oversteer the vehicle, modified shock absorbers and suspension geometry to improve driving stability. Honda S2000 went through several modifications by Mugen Motorsports. One of the modifications did not change anything in the body of the car outside of a package of style, which included the roof, hood and spoiler made of carbon fiber, bumpers and suspension, as well as a sports exhaust system with sports exhaust manifold and intake and carbon-fiber interior amended, inter alia, seat. The second transformation which takes place at the beginning of 2007 deprived sporty Honda roof. The prototype car presented under the name Honda Open Top Pure Sport Concept. The car changed styling and altering with the engine, exhaust, suspension and brakes. Auto deprived of the A-pillars and the glass.

At the end of 2012 at the Tokyo Motor Show presented a modified variant of the Honda S2000 in style that will never be produced. The car is designed as a business card modern styling and high-end interior. The front end has been rounded, and the most important element is the wide chrome strip running along the entire width of the car, which is adorned with the LED daytime running lights.
