Ferrari La (F70/F150)
The Ferrari LaFerrari is a super sports car of the Italian sports car manufacturer Ferrari, which was presented at the Geneva Motor Show on 5 March 2013 as the new flagship model of the brand. As the first series Ferrari he has a hybrid drive – a system that is called at Ferrari HY-KERS and was derived from the KERS in Formula 1. As a direct predecessor of LaFerrari applies the Enzo Ferrari. With a total output of 708 kW (963 PS), he is as the most powerful two-seater Ferrari.
The car was designed by Pininfarina, a long line of models in the design department of Ferrari and with the models Bugatti Veyron, McLaren P1 and Porsche 918 Spyder comparable. For the first time in the history of the Ferrari brand was awarded the LaFerrari a production vehicle presented with hybrid drive, the part is technically based on the Ferrari 599 HY-KERS Concept, which was presented in 2010 in Geneva as a study. The LaFerrari has a 6.3-liter V12 engine with 588 kW (800hp), which was already installed in other power configurations in the FXX and F12. If necessary, he will be supported in the short term by two electric motors, which make a total of 120 kW. One of these engines deliver its power directly to the double clutch transmission further, the second operates various aggregates, thus relieving the main drive. To improve the handling characteristics of LaFerrari has a Brembo brake system with brake discs made of silicon carbide and an electrically retractable rear wing. The largest part of the power take-off is, however, generated by the sub-floor.
Prior to the presentation Ferrari made a great secret to the new model. The name "LaFerrari" (Eng. DerFerrari) was not announced before the presentation by Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo. The name embodies exactly what his company making up. Previously it was speculated about names like F70, Enzo 2 or F150 – F150 with the usual Ferrari system of project numbers follows, but as the name of a truck, the F-series of Ford Motor Company geschützt ist.
