Dodge Nitro
The Dodge Nitro is a compact SUV which was introduced in June 2007 on the German market, almost a year after the launch on the American market. During the Nitro in North America was only available with the two petrol engines, a diesel engine of the Italian VM Motori was offered in Europe. As standard, all models have rear-wheel drive, optional, the Nitro also be equipped with all-wheel drive. The Power transmission is the 3.7-liter V6 engine with a four-speed automatic and the 4.0-liter V6 with a five-speed automatic transmission by Mercedes-Benz. The diesel, however, came with a manual six-speed gearbox, five-speed automatic is optional. From 2008 to the nitro was offered in Germany only with a diesel engine. It was built until 2011.
The Nitro shared a platform with the Jeep Cherokee Liberty (KK) and is produced in Toledo (Ohio).
The turning circle of the Nitro is 11.10 m, and it has a seating capacity for five people. A special feature of the Nitro is its pull-back of the trunk. These can be pulled out about 50 cm and should thus facilitate the loading of the vehicle.
In 2010 there was a facelift of the model in which the chrome parts were almost completely replaced on the vehicle front by those in Karossierefarbe.
