Datsun DA
The Datsun DA was the first post-war car of the automobile manufacturer Datsun. After the end of the Second World War, the Nissan Motor Company was hit hard financially. Much of the production was stopped in 1944, as many factories were damaged by bombing. Due to the time required for the Japanese military capacity for military vehicles, passenger car production in 1938 was almost completely set.
1946 Nissan began preparations for the commencement of production. Factories were rebuilt and repaired and the first post-war passenger cars Datsun, Datsun DA, was designed. Due to material shortages and lack of resources, this was a modified version of the pre-war model Datsun 17 The first post-war vehicle was the Datsun Datsun 1121, a small truck, which was based on the pre-war model 17 Truck Datsun. The 1121 was from August 1946 made in November 1947 and followed him to the Datsun DA. All the beautiful details of the pre-war models were gone, because the chrome was not available. The grille therefore consisted of a steel plate with punched holes. At the beginning of the DA had a square flat back. Towards the end of this production has been redesigned and had a much rounder shape. The hood was that of the 17 Datsun truck and not from the Datsun 17 because so parallel to the 1121 easier could be produced. When driving the pre-war motor Datsun Type 7 engine came with 722cc and 16hp, coupled with a 3-speed manual transmission is used. The Datsun DA was not even produced a year but was an important step to return the correct car production. 1948 replaced him the Datsun DS.
