Skoda Octavia Combi
Skoda Octavia is a car model of mid-range, built by the Czech company Skoda from 1959 to 1971 and from 1996 on the basis of a platform Volkswagen Golf.
The first name of the Octavia was launched in 1959 as successor of Skoda440 and 445, on which it was based. She was named Octavia because it was the eighth model in the line of "popular" brand cars. It was a model of propulsion type available with two engines 4 cylinder petrol 1.1 L and 1.2 L, first sedan configuration (two doors), then in a wagon version (three-door) to from 1961. A convertible named Felicia completed the offer. The sedan was produced until 1964, when it was replaced by the 1000 MB, while the wagon version remained in production until 1971.
The Octavia marked the return of the Czech brand in this market segment in 1996. Built on a Volkswagen Golf, it benefited from the qualities of the latter… but also its flaws.
TDI (turbo-diesel direct-injection) were alive and sober, but noisy and even gruff and raspy for the 1.9 TDI 110hp (replaced in 2001 by the 115hp), then came the 130hp version of the 1.9 TDI injectors The RS version of the Czech family was equipped with the 1.8 turbo petrol with 20 valves 180hp as enjoyable and efficient than greedy. Membership of the Octavia at Volkswagen AG group has appeared in 1998 for the interior, as indeed it was made to last, but its dated presentation left behind by the competition. After the facelift, the finish was (and still is) excellent with many pieces taken from the Golf 4 and Passat. While holding the chassis offered a healthy way, but very understeering and not agile.
The Skoda Octavia Combi Skoda was first designed in the era Volkswagen in 1997. She gets chassis, engine (petrol + TDI) of the Golf IV. Skoda also took a combi 4×4 version with a Haldex transmission TDI version only.
Skoda has produced in 2002 a limited edition of 100 copies rally, making it a sought after vehicle. This rally car has the same equipment as a standard RS, to which we added an ESP system, xenon headlights and heated front seats. It is white in color, with green Skoda logo on the rear of the vehicle and the number 100 on each front door.
The second of the name Octavia takes the qualities of the first version and heal defects. Depreciation is always a little dry, but ballote less passengers. "2" enhances the narrow back streets of the "1". It almost rivals the best in the segment. The finish remains excellent and the bloated equipment from the basic version. As usual with Skoda, the price/habitability/equipment ratio is the best, whether in the compact segment (Peugeot 307, Renault Mégane) or with respect to family (VW Passat, Ford Mondeo). it benefits from the same platform as the Volkswagen Golf and Audi A3. She team diesel engine injectors of 105.140 and 170hp for the RS and petrol engine 102 115 160 200 ch for the RS and also note the appearance of the box DSG (dual-clutch mechanical robotic) In 2008 it enjoys a mild facelift, changing radically the front and rear lights architecture. On this occasion it adopts a 1.4 turbo petrol 122hp replacing the 1.6 115hp. In 2009 it replaces its 1.9 TDI 105hp 1.6 TDI with a novel of the same power but this time equipped with a common injection and therefore less noisy ramp. A wagon version called combi adds to the range. In 2010, the appearance of a block 1.2 tsi tsi 105 derived 1.4 122hp. the break comes in a version called SCOUT which enjoys a presentation more adventurer, suspension rehausé and all-wheel drive.
It was restyled in 2008.
The Skoda Octavia II RS is the latest addition to the Czech brand. This sport uses two motors. One liter 2.0 TFSI direct injection 200 hp (who served on the Audi A3, the Audi A4, the SEAT Leon FR and the VW Golf GTI Diesel is a 2.0 liter TDI with 170hp.
