• Renault Type N/Type N/Type S

Between 1903 and 1904 the Renault range is also greatly expands and becomes quite complex for its time: in these two years are offered various models marked with a letter of the alphabet, and in most cases, each of them was in turn divided into several minor releases. We see a brief description of each of these models.

Produced in only 1903, the Type N was produced in three versions. The most elegant were the Type N (a) and Type N (b) were two high-class cars. They were in the driver’s seat of the cars repaired by a roof, but no doors or else to protect the driver, while in the rear passenger compartment was closed bodywork. They were equipped with a 4-cylinder 2540cc capable of developing a maximum power of 20hp. The third version was the Type N (c), class much lower, it was a sort of lower-middle class sport, built on the platform of the first shortened versions ue and equipped with a 2-cylinder engine 1270cc capable of delivering 16 PS of maximum power.

Even the Type Q was produced in 1903: it was a Type N (c), but with two-cylinder engine increased to 1885cc displacement.

The Type R and Type T were made in 1903, and in 1904 there were two small cars and low end. They were manned by a single cylinder 860cc engine, capable of delivering 7hp of maximum power.

The Type S was a high-end car built on the same platform of the Type N (a) and (b). They differed mainly for the engine, a 4-cylinder 3770cc. It was also produced, such as Type N, only in 1903.

Produced in only 1904 the Type U was a car that was going to take up the legacy of Type N, U and S, with which it shares the chassis. It was available in 4 versions: the smallest Type U (a) was equipped with a twin-cylinder 1570cc. The larger Type U (b), Type U (c) and Type U (d) were equipped instead by a 4-cylinder, 3050 cm ³.
