Renault Reinastella

The Renault Reinastella (Project: RM) was a vehicle that was introduced by the French company Renault at the Paris Motor Show in 1928 and produced in the years 1929 to 1933 as a luxury car. The design of this car provided Louis Renault.

The Reinastella was the first car of the Stella series and should keep for luxury brands such as Hispano-Suiza, Rolls-Royce, Daimler, Packard, LaSalle feeder. The Grand Renaults were riveted with a little star next to the Renault crest directly above the grille. This car was 5.3 meters long, 2.0 meters wide and was the largest that had been produced up to that of Renault after its market debut.

The Reinastella was the first vehicle from Renault, the one eight-cylinder engine with 7125cc capacity of a power of 81 kW (110hp) had until 2600 rpm. The power came from a crankshaft with nine bearings and a dual carburetor and the vehicle could accelerate to 140km/hr. The cooler was first installed before the motor. This technique has been retained in all subsequent Renaults. When Reinastella the hood was longer than in the Successor models Nervastella and Vivastella.

In 1931, the vehicle received at the edges of the hood cooling vents and a new model version, the Reinastella grand sport, was added to the model range. This model was in contrast to the normal model a transmission with a fourth "gentle cycle". A year later, the grille has been rounded to get away from angular shapes.

In 1933 a coupe, the Reina sport was introduced. This car was lighter and more economical. It should help the British and American models in the difficult economic conditions of the Great Depression. Thus, the Reina Stella had the same status as Rolls-Roycs had in England and America in the French world. Not only on the road, but also in the film Reinastella should signal a kind of wealth.

The high proportion of aluminum made the car during the Second World War has become a popular recycled product. The cars that survived this time, are now in public museums.

In 1992, the name for the prototype of a flying car has been used. This flying car was an attraction at Disneyland Resort Paris and was co-sponsored from 1992 to 2002 by Renault. Today this car is to visit only on special auto shows. As the names of many other former models of the brand is "Reinastella" used as a term for marketed by Renault aluminum rims.
