• Renault 40CV

The Renault 40CV was a vehicle of the Renault brand and in 1908 presented to the public. The model was also sold under the name Renault CG, ES, NM and JP.

Originally, the model came with a 6-cylinder 7.5-liter (7539cc) petrol engine on the market. The vehicle was built with wheelbases of 3.75 m and 3.95 m. 1920, a six-cylinder in-line engine with a displacement of 9.1 liters and 140hp power added; the force was a four-speed transmission – transferred to the rear wheels – from 1927 through a three-speed transmission.

1922 models received a hydraulic brake system. The cooling water content was 54 liters, the oil pan took 15 liters and the tank 100 liters, but 100 kilometers required frequent refueling stops with a consumption of 35 liters. The vehicle weight was, depending on the body between two and two and a half tons.

With a standard four-seater, the chief Einfahrer Plessier undertook in Montlhery first few test laps with an average speed of 172km/h and a ride over six hours with 157.56km/h On 3 June 1924, the 12-hour record of 161.658km/h and the 24-hour record of 141.14km/h have been established.

In July 1926 presented the Renault driver Plessier and Garfield with a 40CV-seater, which was specially provided for record runs with a lightweight body, a new record for the 100-kilometer route with 188.85km/h on.
