• Renault 20

Renault 20/30 – upper class passenger car manufactured by Renault in two varieties, in the years 1975-1984. Available as a 5-door hatchback. Successor to the R16. Used to drive a number of different engines. Power was transferred to the front axle with 4 and 5-speed manual and three-speed automatic gearbox. The car model has been replaced by R25. Chassis Renault 20 differed from the Renault 30 mostly front headlights – Renault 20 had two rectangular headlights, a Renault 30 four round. Renault 30 had in addition a more exclusive interior trim. Made over 622 000 model R20 and R30 145 000. The production of the model 20 was completed in October 1983. A small number was manufactured in 1980 by Dacia as the Dacia 2000.

In a plebiscite on the European Car of the Year 1976 Renault 30 TS took third position (the Simca 1307 and BMW E21).

In 1980, the Dacia plant produced a small number of the Renault 20 under the name of Dacia 2000. Car was available only for dignitaries and the secret services of the communist government (Securitate) led by Nicolae CeauÅŸescu. Probably used engine 2.7 l.
