Renault Master – family of large vans, and since 2010, light trucks produced by Renault since 1981. Since 2010, the third generation is produced.

The first version of the Renault Master went into production in 1981. In the same year, went into production as the first-generation Renault Trafic.

The car had quite a distinctive appearance and innovative design. Like the Fiat Ducato used in the front-wheel drive, however, forced the longitudinal engine fairly high position in the driver’s cabin, which also includes the cover, allowing (except the front hood) access to it. Was available in three wheelbases (2.87 m, 3.23 m, 3.70 m) and in several body styles (van with a capacity of 9-12,7 m³, a minibus, a framework for building). In 1989, 2.4 dm ³ engine was replaced by a slightly larger unit with a capacity of 2.5 dm ³ production Iveco-SOFIM. The new engine was available in the master in several versions of maximum power. The naturally aspirated 75hp turbo engine and 88hp. In 1990, he raised the power of the diesel version of the turbo-charged to 94hp. In versions B90/B110 performed 2.5 dm ³ engine with a turbocharger with power raised to 106hp.

Renault Master II – Opel Movano twin model A produced in the years 1998-2010.

In the end, the project was completed and the new Master was introduced in 1997. During the presentation and the first test Renault Master has collected a lot of positive feedback, they were reflected in the title of Van of the Year 1998 (Van of the Year 1998).

Since the beginning of the Master is offered in several versions Position: truck (capacity 8-13,9 m³), ​​combo (6-9 seats), minibus (factory 16-passenger versions), a platform for building and frame for installation (single or double cab). Initially, the Master was available with engines 2.5 D and 2.8 dTi, later joined them dTi 1.9 engine. In the years 2000 – 2001 was introduced to the production of new engines dCi common rail injection, which replaced the older units. Motor 1.9 dTi been changed by the 1.9 dCi engine. 2.5 D engine was replaced by the 2.2 dCi and 2.8 dTi by 2.5 dCi (115hp).

Renault Master in 2003, lived to see the big face lift. Completely redesigned the front wall of the body and interior of the car. To drive modernized served Master 1.9 dCi unit, 2.2 dCi and 2.5 dCi (115hp). In subsequent years, changed its range of engines. 2.2 dCi engine has been replaced by the 2.5 dCi 100hp maximum power. At the end of production of the Master sold was only 2.5 dCi engine in three variants maximum power: 100hp, 120hp, 145hp.

After the merger of Renault and Nissan’s sales network of the Japanese brand hit Renault Master, which was sold as the Nissan Interstar.
