Mercedes-Benz 190
Mercedes-Benz 190, colloquially "Baby-Benz" – model of car manufactured by Daimler-Benz, the nomenclature of the factory marked as W201, produced in 1982-1993.
It was the first Mercedes-Benz middle class after a long break, when the company produced only the larger models in the higher classes. W201 was launched on Dec. 8, 1982, the production was completed in February 1993 in Sindelfingen, and in September 1993 in Bremen. Made 1 879 629 copies.
Car was driven by diesel engines with capacities from 2.0 to 2.5 liters (72-126hp in the Turbo) and petrol engines with capacities ranging from 1.8 to 2.6 liters (90-160hp). The resulting also sports a variety known as Cosworth 2.3-16v (185hp), 2.5-16V Evolution (195-204hp) and Evolution II 2.5-16v (235hp). This model was replaced in 1993 by the class C
Unlike the other models, in which the digital model designation meant the engine swept volume, here "190" means only the trade name of W201 series. According to generally accepted in the company Daimler-Benz principles such as model-liter diesel should be called the Mercedes-Benz 200D, but it bore the designation Mercedes W123 and W124 with an engine of this capacity.
Mercedes 190 in addition to the native tuners were also modified by coming from the UK company 190E Cosworth. Modified engines were based on the popular motorcycle mercedesowskim 2.3 E. Cosworth’y were produced in two engine variants: 2.3 16v (185hp) and 2.5 16v (195-235hp). Auto was characterized by the delicate optical tuning. Mercedes-Benz 190 Cosworth is very rare, especially on Polish roads. Most copies of this model ride in Britain.
