Lotus 93T
The Lotus 93T was a Formula 1 Lotus stable, used during the 1983 season by Elio De Angelis.
This car represents both an end (designed under the direction of Colin Chapman, who died in December 1982 last car) and a beginning (start of the partnership with Renault).
The disappearance of the founder of the team has left traces: despite the efforts of the entire team, this car entrusted in the first seven Grands Prix only Elio De Angelis, Nigel Mansell driving a Lotus innovative but stubborn 92. The British driver takes the wheel of the 93T once during the Race of Champions in 1983, where part of the eighth position, he left in the seventh round.
De Angelis no points at the wheel and at the lack of performance of the car whose engine power does not compensate for the errors of the chassis engineer Gérard Ducarouge recruited during the season, designs a few weeks a new car, the Lotus 94T, the third brought by the team in 1983.
