The Hyundai Stellar (Hangul: 현대 스텔ë¼) was a midsize car, the Hyundai Motor Company produced. The Stellar was released in July 1983 as a successor to the Ford Cortina, the Hyundai had previously assembled and marketed for Ford in South Korea. The Stellar was not introduced in the U.S. (and even after Germany, translator’s note) because he could not meet the local emission standards, but in Canada and other countries.
In the fall of 1988, the Stellar in Canada was replaced by the Hyundai Sonata. In early 1990, production was stopped.
