The first H-1 was based on the Mitsubishi L400. The derived from the H-1 Starex Van was Hyundai. This had either seven or nine seats. The loading volume at the H-1 was 5.71 m³, the payload was 1240kg. The tailgate could be like a Kombi after opening up, what a pleasant loading enabled. But it was also a version available with two-part hinged door.
Standard equipment for the H-1 were electrically adjustable exterior mirrors, a heated rear window, central locking, electric windows, power steering and an adjustable lumbar support for the driver’s seat, driver airbag and ABS. The Starex was in contrast to the H-1 higher-quality interior materials.
While all-wheel drive in other European countries such as Austria and Switzerland was available, this was not officially offered in Germany.
Moreover, it was from the beginning of 2000 in some European countries, the pick-up Hyundai Libero offered on the basis of H-1.
