Fiat X1/9
Fiat X1/9 – a two-seater sports car produced by Italian automaker Fiat in the years 1972 to 1989. Excelled body targa with original appearance, wedge-shaped, developed by Bertone. In a plebiscite on the European Car of the Year 1974 car took second position (behind Mercedes 450S).
The official premiere of the car took place on Nov. 26, 1972 year. It is the first car company Fiat-engined front of the rear axle – center. To build the body uses plastic it is made of, inter alia, roof of the car that you can take off and hide in the front trunk (body targa). To protect the occupants from the effects of overturning a car on the roof, the vehicle has a very rigid frame rear window. In the version with an engine capacity of 1500 cm ³ Fiat X1/9 accelerates to 100km/h in 11.4 s
Between the engine and the seats going, in a separate compartment are arranged vertically: spare wheel (right) and 48-liter fuel tank. Behind the engine is a trunk. Cooler in the car is not placed on the engine at the rear of the car (because there is no room for it and not fulfill its task there), but as in most cars, the front – is low and very wide. Two wires running along the car in the tunnel cooler is connected to the motor. This remoteness makes it to the cooling system need to fill up 11.6 liters of fluid. The front of the car is placed even a fan, battery and device floating retractable headlights.
Fiat X1/9 is equipped with two racks, front and rear of the car with a total capacity of 280 liters (125 l 155 l front and rear). Payload is 200kg.
