Fiat 1500
From 1963 to 1966, the two-door Fiat 1500 Cabriolet was produced. This new type replaced the Fiat 1200 Cabriolet type (118G). The former Pininfarina body was, among other things, a new front, the largely unchanged chassis was the front disc brakes. The most important change was the engine, the Fiat 1500 was from 1961 presented Sedan: a four-cylinder OHV engine with 1481cc and 67hp respectively from the end of 1964 with 75hp (118H or 118K).
After technical changes in 1964 – including servo brake – the engine of the Fiat 1500 C with 75hp and the new five-speed gearbox was installed in 1965 (118 K). This five-speed gearbox was used in different stages of evolution until the mid-1980s at Fiat.
The maximum speed of the Fiat 1500 Cabriolet was specified from the factory with about 160km/h.
Also equipped with the same Pininfarina bodywork sister model Fiat 1600 S (OSCA) convertible with the 1.6-liter twin cam engine of OSCA has been revised. It differed next to the engine from the 1500 Cabriolet by the "four-headlight front" and a significantly high-quality equipped interior. Engine and suspension corresponded to the previous model (1600 S, 1962-1963). In 1965, as in 1500 Cabriolet in 1600 S, the new five-speed gearbox installed.
In addition to the Fiat Cabriolet there was also a 1500 Coupe and 1600 S Coupe, which was marketed by Pininfarina but even under their own label.
Successor was the Fiat 124 Spider from 1966, with his predecessor, only the five-speed gearbox had together.
