Chevrolet Volt
The Chevrolet Volt is a hybrid car plug-in created by General Motors. Driving range on a full battery is about 56km. Due to the small 4 cylinder engine that charges the batteries, increasing the vehicle’s range to 610km. Sales of the car began in December 2010, initially in selected regions of the United States. Successively model has hit the other markets, but for the European market will probably only twin, the Opel Ampera.
Volt was officially unveiled in Detroit January 7, 2007.
In late July/August 2009 in the United States launched an advertising campaign "230" on the principle of viral marketing, which ended Aug. 10. General Motors on their sites published information that the Chevrolet Volt will travel 230 miles taking advantage of one gallon of fuel. This proved to be merely a clever publicity stunt, because running over 230 miles would require but one gallon of fuel a fully charged battery.
Together with its twin Opel Ampera has won the title of European Car of the Year 2012. In addition, in 2011, received the title of North American Car of the Year.
