Chevrolet Tavera
The Chevrolet Tavera is a MPV introduced in 2004, which is manufactured under license from the Japanese automaker Isuzu Motors in Indonesia and India by General Motors as Chevrolet. The model was developed exclusively for the Southeast Asian market, on which the model is offered. Sister model of Tavera is the Isuzu Panther, who is known in some markets as the Isuzu AUV, Isuzu and Isuzu Crosswind HiLander. As motorization are one of the Tavera 2.2 L petrol engine with 114hp or a turbo diesel with 80hp are available.
With its compact size and simple design of Tavera makes especially the Mahindra Bolero, Tata Sumo said, the Hindustan Pushpak competition. But the newer Toyota Innova stands as a competitor against the Tavera. So far, the concept has paid off especially for taxi drivers of taxis, in which the model has been rapidly popular. As a private car of the Tavera is as yet a rarity. The luxurious business version is called "Tavera Neo". In of advertising is this as "an Indian revolution" (in German: An Indian Revolution) offered, although the vehicle just corresponds to the emission standard Euro III and the corresponding ECE regulations. For cities with Euro VI regulation (similar to the German environmental zone) General Motors will soon offer these substandard engines for Tavera.
A facelift and a revision of the interiors in the spring of 2009 gave rise to a second generation, called B2. To characterize the new model velor upholstery, a new instrument panel, a new chrome grille and new body graphics. It is now available in two models to choose from. The old generation model will also continue to build, but now bears the internal generations designation B1. Production in India is the Chevrolet Estate models and its domestic successor official Chevrolet Blazer, which corresponds to the last Trailblazer modification, continued. Production in Indonesia has been set, however.
