Chevrolet Celta
The Chevrolet Celta is a passenger car segment B inexpensive manufactured by Chevrolet in Brazil for Latin America. It’s a deep restyling of the first generation of Chevrolet Corsa, which was released in Brazil in 1994. Their rivals are the cheaper versions of the Fiat Uno, Fiat Palio and Volkswagen Gol. 700,000 Chevrolet Celta have been built in Gravataí, about one hundred thousand per year.
The Celta was launched in Brazil in 2000 with three-door hatchback body, transverse front engine and front wheel drive. Its gasoline engine was a 1.0 liter displacement and 60hp of maximum power (C10NE). In 2002, the five-door went on sale, and the maximum power was 70hp. A 1.4-liter 85hp (C14NE) was added in 2003. Accessories kit 2005 "Off-Road" for new and used Celta distributed. That same year, 1.0 liters of the local market was amended to allow the use of ethanol and gasoline interchangeably (flexible fuel engine).
The Celta was restyled in 2006, with a front that resembles the Brazilian Vectra. One four-door sedan called Chevrolet Prism with a flexible engine 1.4 liter version was added. In late 2006, was released in Argentina with a reestilización equal to the already available in Brazil (Novo Celta) but with a single engine of 1.4 liters and 90hp, besides being launched with the logo of Suzuki and called fun (X14SE ). A mid-year 2009, changed the engine again with a version that meets Euro3 standards and eroga 94cv (Y14NE). At the beginning of 2011 was released in Argentina, to replace Suzuki fun, the Chevrolet Celta which is now known in Brazil
The Chevrolet Celta was officially launched in Argentina in April 2011 after GM stopped Japanese market the brand in the local market. From Brazil, was launched in two versions 3 and 5 doors and trim levels LS and LT. In addition, during July 2011, the country was launched in the 4-door sedan version, under the name of Chevrolet Prisma. Chevrolet announced in Brazil that ended production Prism. This guy sedan segment will replaced from next to the new Onix Sedan year. Prism was made in the Brazilian plant Gravataí where his brother still hatchback-the-Celta is and where it occurs Onix two volumes, unveiled at the San Pablo. The current model that no longer occurs when successor Onix 4-door, is back with the same name "PRISMA". The new Prisma will occur in the plant Gravataí of Porto Alegre, where until recently was manufactured the previous model. Launched in Brazil in 2006 as an evolution of the Corsa Classic, the Prisma came to Argentina in August of last year (see release note). In 2011 1.494 units were patented. And so far in 2012 and 2,847 units were sold.
