Opel Insignia – middle-class car produced by General Motors under the brand Opel Rüsselsheim in Germany since 2008. Auto debuted at the auto show in London July 22, 2008 year. Model was named Car of the Year 2009. The car is the successor to the Vectra.

Opel Insignia sold in the UK market as the Vauxhall Insignia was built on the floorpan GM’s Epsilon II. The design of the vehicle refers to the concept car under the name GTC presented at the Geneva Motor Show 2007. Opel the first to use the name of Insignia for the prototype presented in 2003 at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

In the same year presented a variation of terrain model called the Insignia Tourer Country. Model is based on the station wagon vehicle. The car was increased by 20 mm ground clearance, and placed under the chassis plate and the strengthening of special protection. Car has AWD based on the Haldex coupling and a differential with limited slip and Opel FlexRide adaptive suspension. Like a facelift version of the car will make its debut in Frankfurt. Opel announced during the presentation of the Insignia model globally. The main markets are Europe, China and North and South America. The car is sold under the names:

Standard equipment includes a basic version of the Insignia, among others, manual air conditioning, automatic light control, electrically adjustable driver’s seat, electric front windows, trip computer, ISOFIX, ABS, ESP, front and side airbags for driver and front passenger and curtain airbags.

Optional car can be equipped with, among others, single-zone automatic climate control, USB, Bluetooth, cruise control, electrically operated and heated exterior mirrors with optional folding system, alarm, electric rear windows, automatic light control, rain sensor, dual-zone automatic climate control, sports steering wheel and seats, adaptive FlexRide suspension, lowered suspension, fog lights, heated front seats, humidity sensor> you, electronic parking brake.
