Vauxhall Chevette
The Opel Chevette was a car in the compact class, which was offered from 1980 to 1982 as an Opel. It was made by the British sister brand Vauxhall Opel-as a badge-engineering of the model produced from 1975 to 1982 Vauxhall Chevette.
The Opel Chevette was offered from October 1980 to April 1982 by Opel in the German market. Opel also had the intention to offer an even cheaper car after the expiry of the popular Kadett C and the start of the new Kadett D for some time (until the introduction of the all-new Corsa A).
It was from the spring of 1975, produced by the British sister brand Vauxhall Chevette Vauxhall model. The Chevette corresponded to the front end, the so-called Droop Snoot (German about "hanging snout" or "hanging nose"), which was similar to the Opel Manta B, as well as the engine with 1256cc capacity of the existing Opel Kadett C. In the fall of 1979, a Facelift performed.
The Chevette was a two-or four-door sedan, three-door hatchback (CC) and three-door station wagon (estate) offered. The number of units sold was 12,332 copies.
The technique came almost exclusively from Vauxhall, which, from imperial bolts and threads, often led to problems with repairs and supply of spare parts.
