• Chevrolet Camaro Concept

The Saleen Camaro Concept is a car created by the American company Saleen, and was created exclusively to order, to shoot the film Transformers director Michael Bay. It is an imitation of the fifth generation of the Chevrolet Camaro, which was fully assembled by Saleen, from components supplied by General Motors. Unlike the original concept, this Saleen is made with a fiber body instead of metal.

The objective of Bay at first, was to create the protagonist of the saga (Bumblebee), building the Chevrolet Camaro format. However, General Motors could not accede to his wish, since only had then two units lists, one of which although was able to shoot, I was not prepared to endure the bustle in a high-speed chase. To alleviate this problem, GM decided to contact Steve Saleen, a prominent Car bodybuilder and trainer who worked and reforming Ford Mustangs and Saleen S7 was creator. General Motors chose this alternative, in order to satisfy Bay and to have a similar model Camaro. The assembly of the car takes exactly 45 days, in which General Motors provided a Pontiac GTO Saleen two and two body Camaro, done in fiber. The assembly process, included the "twinning" of the bodywork with the GTO chassis, Saleen application implements inside (like you do with the reforms Ford Mustang), and the construction of a safety cage, to hold fast to the bodywork. Its engine is a 6.0L V8 and 400hp, the engine that had the GTO.
