Volvo S40/V50
Volvo S40 – model car of the compact class body sedan produced by Volvo Car Corporation. Vehicle station wagon version called the Volvo V40.
Volvo S40 I was presented in 1995. Auto was founded on the platform of the Mitsubishi Carisma. In 1999, the car undergoes facelift (including Volvo V40). Appearance has changed slightly, but made several technical modifications such as: direct injection diesel engines, larger brake discs, changes to the suspension and steering systems.

In addition to their smallest Volvo petrol engines also used the GDI engine and comes with Mitsubishi Diesel engines and transmissions Renault.
S40/V40 models and Volvo S70/V70 were the first cars, which received a note 4 stars in Euro-NCAP tests.
Volvo S40 II was presented in 2004. Auto was founded on the floorpan Ford P1 which is used by, among others, Ford Focus and Mazda 3 car in the station wagon called the V50. Both models were produced in the Belgian factory in Ghent.
In 2005, the S40 and V50 models took in the contest for the World Car of the Year 2nd position (for the Audi A6 C6).
In 2007, the car underwent facelift, which stylistically likened them to the S80 and V70 models. From the technical changes introduced include: a new bi-xenon headlamps with cornering ability, braking emergency light (Emergency Brake Lights), as well as a warning system for objects in the blind spot mirrors BLIS (Blind Spot Information System), new front and rear bumpers and new rear lights in LED technology.
