The start of production of the Datsun 15 was in May 1936. Compared with the previous Datsun 14 he had a completely new body. Compared to the older model, the length increased from 2800 mm to 3187 mm and wheelbase of 1980 mm to 2005 mm. Benefited had it especially the interior, which could be increased.

In the Export 87 Datsun 15 were sold. In April 1937, the Datsun 16 replaced the model, while the Datsun Truck 15 was continued in production until 1938.
