Geo is a former American automobile brand from the period 1988 to 1998. In the house of General Motors Corporation Geo the Chevrolet division was subordinate and subject to 1991 the U.S. market.

The brand launched in 1988 Geo sales on the North American Chevrolet dealers exclusively small cars and cars of the lower middle class, from the 1989 model year in the U.S., starting in 1992 in Canada. The brand existed until 1997, after which the models were marketed as Chevrolet. In Canada, GM operated the Asüna brand as Geo counterpart for the local Pontiac, Buick and GMC dealers from 1993 to 1995.

The Geo models were mostly made in the joint venture between GM and Japanese manufacturers. The Prizm was prepared jointly operated by GM and Toyota NUMMI plant in California, Metro and Tracker in GM/Suzuki plant in Canada. Spectrum and Storm, however, were built by Isuzu in Japan.

As a Geo Metro (1988-2001; since 1998 as the Chevrolet Metro) GM presented the first model of the new brand as successor to the Chevrolet Sprint. The three and five doors available small car was from Cultus (In Europe: Suzuki Swift) is derived. In the U.S., the Metro five-door "hatchback" and from 1991 to 1994 as a convertible with a 1.0 was – and 1,3-liter engine offered.

In Canada, there was next to an imported from Japan notchback sedan. In 1994, the Metro a facelift.

In Germany, the Geo Metro was not officially offered, but there was the convertible about the company car-Fox in Mainz as a gray import.

As Geo Prizm (1988-2002; 1998 Chevrolet Prizm as) drove a Geo sedan based on the Toyota Corolla. The Prizm was offered as a four-door sedan and (until 1991) as a five-door hatchback. The choice was between two engine variants, each with 1.6 liters (103/132hp and 76/97 kW).

A Prizm with a new body appeared in 1992. This time, the Prizm was with engines of 1.6 liters and 104hp (76 kW) or 1.8 liter displacement and 117hp (86 kW) to choose from.

In 1998, another model change. The new Chevrolet Prizm again based on the Toyota Corolla and had a 128hp (94 kW) Toyota engine of 1.8 liters.

The Geo Spectrum (1984-1989; until 1988 as Chevrolet Spectrum) was a small model of the lower middle class, which was derived from the Isuzu Gemini. It had a 1.5 liter four – cylinder (71 PS/52 kW). Produced in Japan Spectrum was sold in Canada under the name Pontiac Sunburst.

The Geo Storm (1989 to 1993), a small 2 +2 seater coupe with front-wheel drive, based on the Isuzu Piazza of the last generation. Were offered a hatchback coupe and a shooting brake variant hatchback. The top version of the model series introduced the GSi dar. In North America, only a 1.6-liter engine with 71 kW (96hp) or 97 kW in GSi (132hp) was available.

In 1992, the Storm has undergone a small facelift. Of this amount, the pop-up headlights used to date. The GSi received a 1.8-liter DOHC four-cylinder with 142hp (104 kW).

Wagonback Geo Storm (1991-1993)

The Geo Tracker (1989 to 2004; 1998 Chevrolet Tracker and the GMC Tracker) was the only SUV in the brand.

He was an offshoot of the Suzuki Vitara and enjoyed great popularity. Offered as he was closed version (five-door) and as convertible (two-door). Both models were consistent only with 1.6-liter four-cylinder with 96hp (70 kW).
