Chevrolet Captiva
The South Korean automaker GM Daewoo developed a compact SUV segment D on General Motors Theta platform. It is a five-door with transverse front engine, marketed since 2008 with front-wheel drive or four-wheel drive, and with five or seven seats.
The SUV there with two different designs. One is similar to the concept car "Chevrolet S3X" presented at the Paris Motor Show 2006. Sold with names Winstorm Daewoo in South Korea, Chevrolet Captiva in Europe, South America and much Asia, and Holden Captiva in Australia and New Zealand.
Opel developed a completely different body, which was first shown as a three-door prototype in Frankfurt Motor Show 2006 with the name "Opel Antara GTC." The production model sold in continental Europe under the name Opel Antara, Vauxhall Antara in the UK, Chevrolet Captiva Sport in Brazil and Mexico, GMC Terrain in the Middle East, Holden Captiva MaXX (later Holden Captiva 5) to Australia and New Zealand, and Saturn VUE in North America.
Models for Asia and Europe Bupyong manufactured in South Korea and in St. Petersburg, Russia, and intended for the U.S. market Ramos Arizpe, Coahuila, Mexico production.
In Europe, the SUV is offered with two petrol engines: a four-cylinder in-line 2.4-liter and 136hp of maximum power and a 3.2-liter V6 and 230hp. The gearbox of five marches can be either manually or automatically.
In North America, as Saturn Vue, riding the same two 4L V6 2.4, 3.5 with 215hp. and 3.6 with 250hp. In other markets where it is sold (eg Australia, with Mark Holden) are different petrol engines: a 3.2-liter 226hp and a 2.4-liter 4L 142hp. There are 6-speed automatic transmission, which is not sold in Europe.
